Four Fine Brews From Unibroue

La Blanche de Chambly, 5% Alc./Vol.
Since 1991.

In 1996, Blanche de Chambly was declared "The best white in the world" by The Beverage Testing Institute. (Blanche de Bruges comes at the fourth rank).
Blanche de Chambly is only partially filtered so that it may retain the full benefits of its natural ingredients. Its slightly fuzzy appearence is characteristic of white-beer recipes.
This beer is produced from an interesting blend of Quebec unmalted wheat and a very pale barley malt, to which spices and natural aromatics are added instead of traditional hops. These ingredients, selected for their mellow flavor, give Blanche de Chambly an uncommonly pleasant flavor and distinctive bittersweet taste very reminiscent of old.

La Maudite, 8% Alc./Vol.
Since 1992.

Maudite was awarded a gold medal in 1995 and 1996 by The Beverage Testing Institute. November 1992, Maudite, containing 8% alc./vol., was the first strong beer to be distributed in the Quebec grocery-store network. It is also the first beer brewed in America that has an evolutive taste. When served young, it is very smooth, but when served after several years of storage, its flavour is reminiscent of port. Maudite is a mahogany-coloured, rich-tasting premium beer that has a distinctive, complex taste. It is a beer of character because of the warmth it releases. It must be served cool but not cold. Maudite is the perfect accompaniment to pasta, red meat, stews and spicy dishes. It also makes a good aperitif and after-dinner drink.
Maudite has a typically Québécois name that evokes the legend of the Chasse-Galerie and pays homage to the original forest workers. This legend holds that these workers paddled in the air in bark canoes under the guidance of Satan himself.

La Trois Pistoles, 9% Alc./Vol.
Since 1997

Trois Pistole is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old port and is brewed from well roasted malt. It has 9% alcohol content.
Like all high quality beers, Trois-Pistole is strong in proteins. Once cooled, these proteins crystallize and give the beer a cloudy appearence.
When served at an ideal temperature, between 10 and 12 degrees celcius, this beer has a rich and thick foam wich clings to the glass, a large glass having the shape of a chalice or a tulip. Similar to Unibroue's great triple fermented beers, Trois-Pstoles can be kept in a cellar for 10 to 15 years and improves with age.
Trois-Pistoles may be served as an aperitif as well as an after dinner drink and goes well with pastas, venison and game either roasted, as a pâté a stew or or fricassee. At dessert time, Trois-Pistoles will go well with a chocolate mousse, a wild fruit salad or it can replace coffee.

Fin du monde, 9% Alc./Vol.
Since 1994.

In 1995 and 1996, La Fin du Monde received a platinum medal, the highest distinction awarded by The Beverage Testing Institute.

In February 1994, after 18 months of research, Unibroue launched La Fin du Monde. It contains 9% alc./vol. after three fermentations. This type of beer was originally developed by the monks in the Middle Ages to be served for special occasions. La Fin du Monde is a deluxe beer made through triple fermentation and originating from a unique strain of yeast producing a flavour of unexpected subtlety. With its champagne-like effervescence, it has a vigourous presence in the mouth which accentuates its strong personality: slightly tart, with the balanced flavours of wild spices, malt and hops. It belongs to the class of great Trappist beers and, in this regard, is a North American first. At meals, it can replace white or red wines and enhances the flavour of most dishes.
This beer is brewed in honour of the great explorers who believed they had reached the end of the world when they discovered America.
