CHARDONNAY

MERLOT

Lindemans Bin 40 - Supple, generous and spicy, showing a chocolate edge to the black cherry flavors. At a good price and drinkable now.

Oxford Landing – Supple, generous and spicy, showing a chocolate note among the black cherry and sweet plum flavors.

Rosemount Estate Bottled – Here is a wine that is deep in color and shows the generous dark plum and berry flavors that typify the Merlot wine of 1997.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Black Opal – Wine Spectator 83 – Smooth and generous, this simple red has nice blackberry and smoke flavors that have more up front than on the finish.

Mitchelton – This wine is blood red in color and the bouquet is complex, showing cassis, mulberries with hinds of cedar and vanilla. Well balanced and smooth, the palate is full flavored with rich fruit. Drinkable now but will age well for ten years.

Deakin Estate – Deep, concentrated plum and ripe red fruit flavors in perfect harmony with oak and spice velvety smooth with excellent weight and body. The finish is long and wonderful! An exceptional value.

Hardy's – Wine Spectator 85 – A lighter style that strives for delicacy over power, this drink-me-now Shiraz is smooth on the palate, appealing for its pretty plum and spice flavors.

Hermitage Road – Wine Spectator 87 – Smooth and silky, this lightweight Shiraz has distinctive black cherry and spice flavors that linger enticingly through the generous finish.

Wattle Park – Wine Spectator 86 – A youthful, vibrant Shiraz. This is almost like a barrel sample it's so fresh, with a raw edge to the plum and berry flavors that linger on the rounded finish.
