CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Casa Lapostolle –
Wine Spectator 88 – This ambitious red shows plenty of concentration, its ripe flavors of blackberry and dried plum overlaid with coffee and toasty oak nuances and supported by muscular tannins. It seems a hit overdone now, oaky and alcoholic on the finish, but should harmonize with time; best from 1991 through 2009.

Los Voscos

Los Voscos Reserve –
Wine Spectator 83 – Solid, with berry and plum flavors and a good backbone. Herbal notes linger appealingly on the finish.
Santa Rita 120 –
Wine Spectator 83 – Black cherry and tobacco flavors are clean and well defined in this supple red. It has just enough tannin to stand up to food, and the fruit lingers on the finish.
